Last Friday Night Vampire Diaries was like a Christmas offering filled with anything this reveal does so properly: There was a modest romance, lots of action and even some good ol’ fashioned heartbreak. As for the body count, I stopped tallying once I went out of possession.
Following their unique hesitant team-up, Damon and Enzo convinced Rayna to exchange her last remaining lifespan to Bonnie in an try to reverse the results of the Armory’s pills. Rayna was surprisingly open to the idea – similar to of us, she just wants a few days to feed on cheeseburgers through the sea – under one problem: They had to kill each last vampire that runaway out of the Arizona Stone to allow her a final time of clarity ahead of biting the top one. From that point on, it was pretty much an episode of Rayna’s Angels, along with two conflicted teams – Alaric was no more eager to work with Stefan than Bonnie was with Damon – seeking out rebel vampires using Rayna’s less-than-consistent indicators. And nothing involved to get in their specific way; Damon didn’t even think a second time before killing a just-released Beloved, even with Bonnie’s insistence that they hold him alive to provide a thank-you to save Caroline.
Chris Grismer directed the episode and story by Matthew D’Ambrosio . Airdate 4/22/2016.
